FULL-TIME COMMITMENT
Mark will make a full-time commitment to the office of Mayor, which is what the voters of the City of Anna Maria have historically experienced and want to see continue.
NO BUSINESS INTERESTS OR CONFLICTS
Mark has no business interests or conflicts that will prevent him from being fully dedicated to performing the duties of Mayor in an independent and unbiased manner.
SELF-FUNDED CAMPAIGN
Mark is not soliciting for nor accepting funds for his campaign. It is Mark’s intention to self-fund his campaign for Mayor.
AS YOUR MAYOR, MARK WILL:
Manage the City of Anna Maria in a cost efficient and operationally effective manner, challenging operational expenses with efficient use of City resources. In addition, Mark will focus on outside sources to assist in, and fund, capital improvements projects required in the City.
Develop short-term and long-term capital improvement and maintenance programs focused on enhancing our quality of life and protecting our personal investments in the City while improving the health of the environment. Attention will be given to balancing the needs of the residents of the City with the needs of our commercial businesses and visitors to the City.
Improve the City’s communications with residents, business owners and visitors by utilizing social media as a means for providing timely information.
Continue to oppose the possibility of the consolidation or dissolution of the cities on the Island. The residents of the City of Anna Maria know best what we need and how to manage those needs. Opportunities should be pursued to combine certain services between the cities on the Island if it results in saving taxpayer dollars. Mark’s background performing integration services for businesses will be beneficial for any such evaluations.
Continue positive relationships with both county and state legislators even if there is disagreement regarding individual matters.
ENVIRONMENTAL FOCUSED APPROACH
A healthy environment is critical to the quality of living in the City of Anna Maria and why we live here and why people want to visit here. Whether that be the quality of the water, the beaches, lighting or noise, all must be maintained and improved upon. As Mayor, Mark will ensure actions taken include elements of improving the quality of our environment, including working with City of Bradenton, Manatee County and the State of Florida to influence their focus on structural improvements that positively impact the environment for the City of Anna Maria.
